Tax Refunds for STUDENTS
Holiday work, part time jobs or placements?
If you are a student and you have worked part time, done holiday work or work placements then it's very likely you will be due a tax refund from the Inland Revenue. Our service will get your refund through quickly and you'll keep hold of most of it! All you need to do is complete the initial application, then wait to receive your tax refund cheque. Let us do the work!
Tax rules governing students don't differ greatly from that of a basic rate tax payer. The only real difference is the 'P38(s)' form which relates to summer work only. The P38(s) is available from the tax office or you can ask your employer for it. If you fill out this form, before you start a summer job, you may receive all your pay without any tax being taken off. The form asks that you confirm that you will earn less than the personal allowance for that year (currently £5035) and that you will not work again once you stop your summer job. Of course, many students work part-time or in work placements alongside their summer job and this is why they should take the 'Short Tax Survey' to see if they have a claim. The likelihood is that as a student you will have paid tax on your earnings and will be due a large part, or all of the tax you have paid back from the Inland Revenue.
Our fees are 25% inclusive of vat and average refunds are £800. If you need your money transferred into a UK bank account (or overseas one if you've gone off travelling) that's no problem either.
