Tax Refunds for FIELD SALES

Tax refunds for mileage and travel costs!

If you hit the road and clock up the miles for your employer you may be due a substantial tax refund. The main fact that supports a successful claim for tax relief is whether or not your employer reimburses you the cost of your travelling at the published rates issued by HM Revenue & Customs.

If you are not reimbursed, or you are on less than 40p/mile then you may have a valid claim. The mileage you do must NOT only be to and from a permanent place of work (such as an office base) and must be necessarily incurred in course of your duties. In practice that means every trip to a potential or existing client, to a trade show, entertaining clients, visiting suppliers, etc. You can also claim if you are travelling to and from a temporary place of work, which is defined as anywhere you work for less than two years, which is not your usual place of work.

Those based at home with a designated territory can claim for all their mileage and travel costs within the territory, as they are deemed not to have a permanent place of work and therefore no ordinary commuting.

We can also make a claim for you if you have been reimbursed by your employer but that money has then been taxed along with the rest of your pay.

It's not only mileage in your own car that we can claim for - any work travel that you have not been reimbursed the full amount for. So if you receive an expenses allowance at a flat rate per month but exceed it we can claim tax refunds on the difference. The taxman isn't interested in the cost of the expense, just the nature of it so it can be train and air fares too.

Tax refund claims for mileage and travelling can be back dated 6 years so we can claim for all your allowable travelling since April 2002. Our charge for this refund is on a no win no fee basis and is just 25% inclusive of vat. Full details available in the claim pack.
