Who are you?
"PAYE Right is provided in conjunction with Online Payroll Solutions Ltd. Taxpayers have already saved massive numbers of tax refunds and future savings through altered tax codes as a direct result of using this service."
Why might I be due a rebate?
You may not have claimed all the tax allowances to which you may have been entitled during the last 6 years. If you did not know they exist, you are unlikely to have claimed them.
Can I get a rebate myself and not use you?
Yes. But that pre-supposes that you know exactly which areas to look at, how each tax allowance should have been applied, and what questions to ask the Inland Revenue. You must also know the answers the Revenue give are correct, which may not always be the case. If you do manage to get yourself a rebate, would you be sure you couldn't have claimed more? You may have missed out on a large rebate which only a professional tax expert would notice.
Isn't 30% a bit expensive?
Without using this service, you are unlikely to ever recover any tax you may have overpaid, so you should look at this as 70p in the pound gained not 30p in the pound lost. Consider the alternatives - contact the Revenue yourself (as discussed above) or pay an accountant a fee of at least £300 - £350, whether or not you get a rebate. If your case becomes complex, or the Revenue start asking for lots of information, the accountants' fee will rise very quickly. You won't know until you start the whole process and then it's too late. Most good accountants charge £100+ per hour.
What do I need to do?
Complete the secure questionnaire online. We will assess the information - if we believe that you may be due a rebate we will contact you for more details to substantiate a claim. Please deal with our requests for information as quickly as possible to allow us to assess and submit your claim with the minimum delay. This assessment looks at the last 6 years.
I've only worked for the company for a short time. Is it still worth me applying for the assessment?
Yes. If you have paid tax at anytime in the last 6 years, it's worth you applying for the assessment.
How can you assess my tax situation, you're only asking a few questions?
The whole process is completed in a simple, easy to follow manner. The first questionnaire you receive picks up on the main areas for tax allowances. We will ask you for further information at a later stage. You should be aware that we operate with the information you supply. As it says on their questionnaire, if you want to supply any additional information you think may be of use to them, do so on a separate sheet of paper. It is better to supply too much information, rather that too little. Let us decide whether it's of use or not.
What if I can't find all the information you request?
Don't worry, provide what information you can but in every case, you must return the forms. we will do our best to process your claim with the information you have given us.
Do I have to send my original wage slip and P60?
It helps speed up your claim if we have your original, latest P60. A copy of your payslip will be acceptable. In all cases, your original documentation will be returned to you.
I need my P60 and wage slip back. How do I get them?
Write to us quoting your reference number and stating the date you need the documents by, and we will return the document's to you. Our address is stated on all correspondence. All original documents will always be returned in any event. Alternatively, call our helpline number that will be given to you when your application has been received.
How long does the process take?
The average time it takes us to review your affairs is 4-6 weeks assuming you reply to any information request speedily. However, if we need information from third parties, this can delay the process a little. Once a claim is submitted to the Inland Revenue we will advise you accordingly. The Inland Revenue usually take between 4-10 weeks to deal with simple claims. Some cases have taken longer, but if we believe you are owed money, we will do everything in our power to recover it for you no matter how long it takes. At all times we will be monitoring the process of your claim and frequent reminders will be sent automatically to H M Inspector of Taxes. Any correspondence from the Inspector regarding your claim will be dealt with by us on your behalf.
I've sent in all my information and I haven't heard anything?
Don't worry. Once we have everything we need from you, you won't hear anything until you get either a letter saying nothing is due to you, or a letter telling you a claim has been submitted. Rest assured we will always contact you.
What if I am not due a rebate?
We will write and tell you that according to the information you have supplied, you are not owed a rebate. We will also return your paperwork (P60, wageslips, P2 Notice of Coding etc).
What if you find I owe tax?
This is extremely unlikely. If you do owe tax, we will inform you, and suggest that you allow us to make arrangements with the Inland Revenue to repay it. There will be no charge for us doing this. It is up to you to accept the advice. If you decide not to let us sort it out, we will close your file. The Inland Revenue will not be informed. If you owe money to the revenue, LET US SORT IT OUT. It will be looked on more favourably if we tell the Revenue, rather than the revenue find out years later. Again it should be stressed cases like this are extremely rare.
Do you know how much I am going to get?
Yes, but we allow the Revenue to do the calculation because it is simpler for them to work out the interest you will be entitled to on your rebate. We check all amounts received to make sure they are correct.
If I get a rebate, how is it handled?
The Inland Revenue will issue a cheque which is banked in a designated rebates account. We will deduct our fee of 30p in the £ and forward the balance of 70% to you. This process usually takes approximately four working days from the date the Inland Revenue notify you of your rebate.
How will I know if I've got a rebate?
You will receive a copy of the findings from H M Inspector of taxes, either before or at the same time as us. If the Revenue write to you first, it will normally take a 5-10 working days before you receive the cheque as they do not send them immediately, they are processed at the Revenue's cheque processing centre.
